This is a device that lets us view the total eclipses of the sun that will be seen from a given location over the next 1000 years. Through the movement of its 186 steel panels it represents the transit of the moon's disc over the sun on a given date. The audience is able to catch a glimpse of a future event through the workings of a machine that resembles both the polished mirror panels of a space telescope and the solar discs worn by leaders and priests in ancient cultures.
