Jolie Rouge was the name bestowed by pirates to their ominous insignia. In this sculpture, a TV monitor displaying an animated skull and bones hangs precariously from the tip of a very high plinth, suggesting both the pirate flag flying on top of a mast, or the pirate’s victim on the edge of a plank.
