Naj Tunich is a cave in Petén, Guatemala. In 1979 a Mayan hunter accidentally found a cave full of drawings on the walls dating back to the Maya Classic period, the largest such group ever found. In 1989 the cave suffered extensive damage fom vandalism and has been closed to the public ever since. This film and the installation around it document a visit to the site. Through sculptural and graphic this project aims to convey the idea of extracting the drawings from the endangered site, as a form of looting and preservation.
